Mobile Phones – Insurance or Recovery?

A very large population of the world has used, are using or have come in contact with a mobile phone. They are becoming an increasingly popular accessory, cutting across all age groups and also people from different races and colors. These phones have been embraced and have become the new way of communication, especially in the 3rd world countries. The more people use their phones, the more they become attached to them. This is because the cell phones are not only used for communication but also for business and entertainment. This all depends on the model of the phone.

Anyone one with a phone that is valued highly, say $100 and above then you must dearly value your phone. Unfortunately, mainly because of carelessness and theft, you may lose it or it gets stolen and thus you get so devastated. This is where some insurance companies will come in and try to offer you mobile phone insurance. You will have to pay a premium and then you will have your cell phone covered. But these insurance companies usually target the high ended people with cell phones that cost over $250. Once that has happened when you lose your phone, you can go and claim another one from the insurers. They mainly target people with phones like iphones, communicators, blackberries and the likes.

But as you can clearly see, the insurers have a certain target group in which not many people fall into. So what about the common man? How come you cannot get cover for your phone that is worth $100 or so? Does this means that mobile phone insurance is biased?

Well the good news is that there is mobile phone tracking software that can be installed on your cell phone and you will be able to locate where your phone is. All one has to do is to download the software on to their phone. You can do that directly by going to the website with the software and downloading it or you can download it on your PC or laptop and transfer to the cell phone. So if your phone is stolen, when the sim card is replaced, a text message will be sent every 30 minutes to a preferred number you had provided during the registration.
