How to track your stolen Cell phone

Each and every city in the world experiences its own ways of crime. It is almost impossible to hear of any city that does not experience crime. Muggings, car-jackings, highway robberies, theft, murder and many other social evils are rampant in our world cities. This means that you can never be 100% safe. This in turn means that you each and everyone is at risk of falling into one of this (God forbid). You never know when your time will come. But it is always good to be prepared.

One of the crimes that is experienced everyday has to be cell phone theft. I can bet you that each and everyday at least 10 cell phones are lost or stolen. These phones contain things that you treasure. Well, your life is more important than a mobile phone, but at times your cell phone has got contacts of important people in your life, including other things that you may treasure. There are people who store highly classified information on their cell phones these days. This is especially so if you use phones such as blackberries, communicators, iPhones and the likes.

Prevention is better than cure…so if you don’t want to lose your phone totally then there is hope for you. This is all because of the cell phone tracking software. This software can enable you to get your cell phone back and may be even get the thief if proper investigations are done. Before taking any drastic steps it would be important to note that the person who will have your phone may not necessarily be the thief because it is probable that the thief sold the phone to them. So be wise as you handle such situations.

To have your phone protected all one has to do is to download the software on to their phone, either directly (by accessing the website with the software through the phone) or using a data cable and computer to transfer the software onto the phone. One also has to purchase a code for the software to be activated. Another important piece of information needed is the preferred number of someone you meet regularly: a spouse, workmate, college mate, schoolmate etc. This is because when you lose your cell phone and someone replaces your sim card with theirs a text message will be sent immediately to the preferred number you had provided, with the details of the person with your phone including the phone number of that person.
